Monday 23 June 2025 marked an auspicious moment for Wollar Solar Farm – 100% generation! After almost two years of construction, the solar farm began generating at full capacity after successfully completing Stage 3B testing. Further testing will be conducted throughout July as part of Hold Point 3 to complete the commissioning process. 

Achieving this 100% generation milestone is a significant moment for the project, which will now help to deliver enough clean energy to Australia’s electricity grid to power more than 100,000 homes every day for the next 30 years. 

More than 660,000 solar panels with single-axis tracking have been installed on the site since the first sod was turned in 2023. These panels will help generate up to 280MW of clean energy per day when operating at full capacity. Wollar Solar Farm is one of the largest solar farms in New South Wales and will contribute to reducing approximately 500,000 tonnes of carbon emissions being pumped into Australia’s atmosphere each year. 

The dedication and diligent efforts of our construction team in delivering this project are to be commended. We are also sincerely grateful for the patience and continued support of the Wollar and Mudgee communities throughout the past few years. 

Construction is now approaching completion, with the project team focusing on the final closeout of outstanding elements including construction of our on-site warehouse. This period will include a transition as the Asset Management and Operations teams come onboard for handover activities which will see a reduced workforce at site along with a new range of day-today maintenance activities. 

We look forward with excitement to the official commencement of the commercial operations phase of the project in Q4 of 2025, and will continue to share updates and engage with the local community.
