The Fund reflects Wollar Solar Farm’s long-term commitment to sharing the benefits of renewable energy with local communities and will operate throughout the life of the solar farm. Funding will be available to eligible not-for-profit organisations, community groups and charitable organisations delivering projects within 50 kilometres of the site.

The launch builds on the success of the solar farm’s construction-phase Sponsorship Program, which provided more than $40,000 in support to a wide range of local organisations and initiatives. Recipients included Riding for the Disabled Mudgee, Watershed Landcare Group, the Gulgong Volunteer Rescue Squad and the Mudgee Show Society, alongside several other community projects that delivered lasting social, cultural and environmental benefits across the region.

Wollar Solar Director of Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations, Karl Schubert, said the Community Fund would help strengthen local communities and support projects that make a positive difference.

“The launch of the Community Fund demonstrates our ongoing commitment to ensuring the benefits of the Wollar Solar Farm project are shared locally for many years to come,” Mr Schubert said.

“Through our Sponsorship Program, we’ve seen first-hand how even modest grants can help community organisations deliver important services, improve facilities and create opportunities for local people.

“We’re excited to invest $100,000 every year into initiatives that strengthen community wellbeing, support local priorities and help communities thrive.”

The Fund will support a broad range of projects, including community facility upgrades, youth and education programs, environmental initiatives, First Nations projects, health and wellbeing activities, local events and other initiatives that strengthen community resilience and participation.

Developed with input from the local community, the Fund has been designed to support projects that deliver lasting benefits and address local priorities. In 2026, the full $100,000 allocation will be available through a single funding round. From 2027 onwards, funding will be distributed across two rounds of $50,000 each.

Applications for the inaugural funding round open on Wednesday 12 August 2026 and close at 5.00pm on Wednesday 23 September 2026.
