Wollar Solar Farm today announced four local initiatives will receive funding support from the second round of the Company’s Sponsorship Program.
Arts, Culture and Advocacy initiatives will be supported as part of the second round of funding, with the following applicants all announced as successful:
- Mudgee People Against Violence Committee –16 Days of Activism
- Henry Lawson Heritage Festival
- Gulgong Chamber of Commerce – for the Gulgong Gossip
- Arts Council of Gulgong – UneARThed Art Prize 2024
The Wollar Solar Farm Sponsorship Program was developed to assist projects and events that contribute to the social, economic and cultural wellbeing of the community. It aims to provide support to community groups and charities in the Central West Region in partnership with Wollar Solar Farm.
Head of Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations, Mr Karl Schubert said the committee reviewing the applications were once again given a hard task.
“In the first round there was a diverse range of strong applications and the quality of applications submitted in this second round has gone up another level,” Mr Schubert said.
“It is exciting to see so many amazing organisations and events in the Central West Region, our only disappointment is not being able to support all of them.
“Having to choose between so many worthy applicants is a very difficult task, however, we believe the four organisations chosen will benefit greatly from the support and in turn, so will the community.
“We sincerely thank everyone that submitted projects and events for consideration and encourage those who weren’t successful in this round, to re-submit for future funding rounds.
“Outside of our four Sponsorship Program Funding Rounds organisations can also apply for in-kind support, material donations or volunteer assistance, which may be more useful than financial support in some cases.”
Wollar Solar Farm has allocated $32,000 across four funding rounds from 2023 through to January 2025.
Applications for Round 3 are now being accepted, with the round closing on 28 June 2024. Applications must be submitted online or via email. If organisations, individuals or community groups require assistance with their submission, please contact info@wollarsolar.com.au or call 1800 700 743.
