The successful local initiatives in the fourth round of Wollar Solar Farm’s Sponsorship Program have been announced, with community events and programs aimed at improving the lifestyle and wellbeing of residents receiving funding.

Four local groups were successful in receiving funding in this final round of the Sponsorship Program, which was set up for the solar farm’s construction phase. Recipients included:

  • Wollar Progress Association – Funding in support of their “Family Fun Day” event
  • Riding for the Disabled Mudgee – Support for rider fees for 2025
  • Mudgee Show Society – Mudgee Show and Rodeo 2025
  • Rylstone Public School Parents and Citizens Association – Rylstone Public playground soft fall project

Wollar Solar Community Relations Manager, Erin Fletcher, said: “It has been a very difficult task reviewing all of the applications that we have received for the Sponsorship Program, and this round was no different.

“We have been astounded by the high-quality applications that have come in, and it has been wonderful to see the community spirit in the Wollar and Mudgee region. We’re proud to once again be able to support a number of the incredible local initiatives that help to make this area so special.”

As construction of Wollar Solar Farm comes to an end in the coming months and operations begin, a new community benefit initiative will be developed to continue to support the local area. Wollar Solar will be undertaking community engagement to understand the issues and causes important to local residents to develop a program that helps to improve the wellbeing of those in the region.

Should locals wish to share any feedback the development of the community benefit initiative, please contact us.
