Yes. Applications will be assessed on how they align with the key focus areas of the Community Fund, including Education, Youth and Aged Support Services, Community Participation and Cohesion, First Nations, Environment and Biodiversity, and Tourism.

For the first five years of the fund, priority will be given to projects that benefit communities within 10km of Wollar Solar Farm, including Wollar.

Applications are reviewed by a Community Reference Group comprising of volunteers from the local area and solar farm representatives. Applications are assessed based on:

You will be contacted and advised of the outcome of the funding round, with successful applicants being required to deliver the project as outlined and approved in their application. Within one month of the approved project/event/initiative finishing, you will need to provide a completed acquittal form and any other required supporting documentation to Wollar Solar Farm. Supporting documentation may include news clippings or social media mentions, receipts for payments made and a budget expenditure summary.

Any funds that remain unspent after the project concludes will need to be returned to Wollar Solar Farm, unless prior approval has been received to adjust the scope of the approved project.

We welcome applications from interested community members living within the Mid-Western Regional LGA. Applicants who can demonstrate appropriate skills and/or experience relating to similar CRG’s or committees, who are not landowners who have granted a lease or easement to Wollar Solar Farm are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to applicants who live within the target community (i.e. within 50km of Wollar Solar Farm).

Membership on the CRG is voluntary. The CRG will be reviewed regularly to ensure that it is operating effectively.

You will need to be able to provide information around the event/initiative that you are seeking funding for, including the key focus areas that your initiative meets and the direct benefit to be provided to the community within the eligibility area. You will also need to provide details around key milestones for the project, the outcomes that you are looking to achieve, and how Wollar Solar Farm may be recognised for its support.

Applications will also need at least two recent quotations and details of how the funding would be used. If your initiative involved capital works, the application must be accompanied by an approved Development Consent from Council, or written confirmation that this is not required.

We understand that sometimes plans change, however we ask that any changes to how the approved funding will be spent first be approved by Wollar Solar Farm before proceeding. Please submit a request in writing by contacting us so that this can be reviewed.

If the actual cost of your project is less than the approved funding amount, you may choose to:

• Submit a request in writing to change the scope of the approved project and, if approved, apply the unused funds for the amended scope
• Return the unused funds via electronic funds transfer to Wollar Solar Farm, once the final amount payable is confirmed

Any funds returned will be placed back into the Community Fund for future applications
